if you have gone back to FS95/FS6.0/FSFW95 and need help how to install aircraft

Here's some help for you

                                                                        ⧭⧭⧭⧭⧭⧭⧭⧭

Step 1. download the aircraft from flightim.com or copy from an old hard drive or whatever

step 2 open the zip file and take a look at its contents...

step 3 find where you've installed the simulator (Microsoft actually send it to Program Files-Microsoft Games-Flight Simulator) and then go to the next  step once you are done this

step 4, all contents are included like this

  • 4 to five files with *.0AF and as you scroll down you should see a lot more *.XAF and X is where another number in the sequence is there
  • 2 files that are *.mdl and *.air (if you see the *.air file show up as air file) as the file type then looks for one file that doesn't have an *mdl or *0AF after the period.

so you can see there's 0AF, 1AF, and others in sequential order ^above

step 4a copy the files that end in AF into main texture folder
step 4b copy the *model file and *.air file to "sim" folder and

VOILA, open up the flight sim involved here and the aircraft should show up...

hope this helped, but that's only if google algorithm got you here lol

sorry thats a rude joke...have a good day

more websites for fs9 stuff are dissapearing or im just not seeing them go

here's a link to a website whose page of fs9 has been removed or left behind but i found a way back machine of the page and here it is in all its glory..

https://web.archive.org/web/20160724120358/http://scenery4flightsims.com/FS9_USA.html

that snapshot was taken in 2016 as it says above  in the bolded and italic type "https://web.archive.org/web/20160724120358"

the original link is here below but that won't get you anywhere, as the site is shut down

http://scenery4flightsims.com/FS9_USA.html

now you can use that link shown directly above and load it up on waybackmachine

making the fsx demo seem more like the full version of fsx

Maybe you have downloaded FSX Demo and thought, "wait!!  it's set up inside the folder just like the previous sims that Microsoft has ever made" and you're like "what if I just go ahead and add other planes you've downloaded to other computers and copy them in.." ..will they work??

well if you asked these questions at all please be available to realize that "YES" the answer is yes, and you can add and copy aircraft (with varying results)and add scenery as well... you can just edit the DLGsplash.bmp file and make it look like it never had been made to be just a demo!!

with only considerations like
  1. there's no multiplayer
other than that there are no other differences

That's it, even if you find this I have not tried to break/jail the sim, its 15 years old by the way!!...so I just wanted to see if it works that way and it does!!

keep in mind that some things are lost or not copied like the normal one is.. and speaking of the standard version since it's now 15+ years old you can find a freeware version of the standard version + accel added on for only free and only "8GB". I'm sure someone in the future can copy this game onto a flash drive or a CD/DVD for others to allow the way it plays to keep going.

That should help with using the demo version as a standalone copy of the sim... if others have a copy of the sim in various forms like steam and gold versions you can copy settings from the steam or standard/gold into it!!

posting links to payware fs items for free

Please stay away from posting links to payware products and listing them for free or sharing other freeware saves unless the program/add-ons are becoming like it's out of date for the sim you're using.

Doing the pirating of freeware that's payware could end you up in court or in jail for a short period of time.

Like when using PMDG in this idea there's dozens of aircraft for FS9 that could be pirated but they are all 10+ years old so that wouldn't bother me but its stuff thats just realsed recentl 10 or less that i wouldnt want this going on

so please do not do this

Over 20 (or close to) Years Of Being on Vatsim

after flying nearly 22 years on the sim and adding up to nearly 1000 hours there as well. Its interesting to see where I've come over the last number of years!

below is the tracking of all my flights

https://stats.vatsim.net/search_id.php?id=821008
https://stats.vatsim.net/search_id.php?id=1054547

Interestingly enough there is my last flight ill ever fly on VATSIM, a rudimentary flight from Yellowknife to Hay River back in October. I could possibly move back on it if I were to upgrade this computer to Win 7 or Win 10...

The last flight was with this callsign:BFL0200 with the flight times of 10/13/19 00:27 and
10/13/19 01:26, from CYZF-CYHY (2), with a time of 0:59 minutes.

Hope you enjoy my story

if you cant get your plane to turn in flightsim..

Often times some aircraft (default and addon) in fs9 seem to not want to turn very well...some say you can hit F11 and F12 respectively to turn the plane back and forth from left to right, where F11 makes you move to the left and F12 to the right...but some say there are better and easier ways.

Go into the aircraft.cfg (of each aircraft) and edit what I show below....

Here's the contact points from the Milton Shupe Grumman S2F Tracker that hasn't been changed as it wouldn't turn left or right...

"[contact_points]

static_pitch = 3.93
static_cg_height = 6.75
tailwheel_lock = 0
gear_system_type = 1
max_number_of_points = 9

point.0 = 1.000, 14.087, 0.000, -7.808, 1950.000, 0.000, 1.050, 180.0, 0.180, 6.142, 1.000, 6.000, 6.000, 0.000, 150.000, 150.000
point.1 = 1.000, -.95010, -9.30, -7.604, 2500.000, 1.000, 1.500, 0.000, 0.921, 1.260, 0.800, 6.000, 6.000, 2.000, 150.000, 150.000
point.2 = 1.000, -.95010, 9.30, -7.604, 2500.000, 2.000, 1.500, 0.000, 0.921, 1.260, 0.800, 6.000, 6.000, 3.000, 150.000, 150.000
point.3 = 2, -20.738, 0, -5.28, 1600, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 9"

if you want to be able to change the wheels to move here you go, ignore everything other than the bolded like I have above (unless you know what you are doing)...skip to where you see 180.0 on that line and change it to be something like 65...below

point.0=1.000, 14.087, 0.000, -7.808, 1950.000, 0.000, 1.050, 65.0, 0.180, 6.142, 1.000, 6.000, 6.000, 0.000, 150.000, 150.000

not sure what happens if we changed the numbers before and after would do... I know some areas of the aircraft.cfg but this is deeper than my knowledge goes..but really it looks like all you have to do is change the 180.0, to 65.0, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING ELSE or it will change the way it flies dramaticlally!!

flying with only the keyboard in simulator

For nearly 30 years I've been using the keyboard and I have been enjoying it very much. I've tried the yoke and I still didn't get used to it!

I notice that it's not all that hard..I've been able to take off and land with all sorts of random aircraft big and small with no problem and am able to really get down to earth with the flying aspects on the keyboard...

Flying with the keyboard does mean that there are fewer things to break... yokes are about 2-3 pounds or more and there are parts to break that won't allow the machine to work or they are expensive than buying another one isn't worth it...

I seem to feel like I am the only one of maybe just 2-3 people that may still fly using the keyboard. Im not here to say anything about, or bash the yoke users I'm just here to say that if you want to be able to fly with the keyboard it's possible and I've been doing it for nearly 30 years!!

have a good day!1

its been fun...

Well it's been about a year since I have tried to get my computers running  and then couldn't possibly use them again so they don...
